It’s almost summertime in Charleston, which means warmer weather and outdoor events to look forward to! We have rounded up our favorites to enjoy as the temperatures start to rise and you are looking for excuses to be out in the sun.
Party at the Point
During the months of May through July, you can head on down to the Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina for Party at the Point. You can bring the whole family for a night of music, drinks, and fun right on the beachfront!
The Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina in Mount Pleasant, SC is hosting their 21st Party and the Point after one year off. Every Friday from May 6th to July 8th you can experience live music from local bands, tribute bands, and more! This event is family friendly, thanks to the location being beachfront they can play in the sand while you dance the night away! Make sure to grab a few towels and beach chairs to lounge on when your feet get tired.
Charleston Riverdogs
Summertime means it’s baseball season, and while the closest MLB team is in Charlotte, you can still get your baseball fix! The Charleston Riverdogs is a minor league baseball team located right downtown.
The Charleston Riverdogs are well known thanks to their unusual marketing tactics. You can find the normal family, dog, and cheap beer nights, but they get really creative with their promotional nights. Some of their best nights included a day dedicated to a woman who left a bad Google review, “nobody night” where they locked paying fans out, toilet paper night, and car salesmen night to name a few. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse or get a free hot dog from Charleston Riverdogs owner and Charleston’s favorite funny man, Bill Murray!
Live at Firefly
North Charleston is home to South Carolina’s oldest working distillery, Firefly Distillery. A trip to Firefly is always a must for any spirit lovers, but it’s best to time your visit around the Live at Firefly events held every summer.
In 2021 Firefly moved their headquarters to North Charleston, just a short drive from historic Downtown Charleston. You can book a tasting to try the popular and world’s first Sweet Tea Vodka as well as their 25 other spirits. Live at Firefly was introduced with the opening of the new facility, in partnership with their music program. Firefly hosts live music events featuring both local and national touring artists. The larger scale ticketed concerts take place in the 4-acre field on the property, showcasing views of live oaks and the marsh during the Summer Months.
